extremely proud and cackling that the one online zine store i chose to go to (over gumroad & etsy) was called 'offensive and sexualized' by apple in the epic court case lolllllll

fucc yea bitch :D

also a musing that i'm posting here instead of twitter because a) I don't like "talking" on there, and b) is enough of a response to something that it could be considered a subtweet, but i don't mean it ... maliciously? more just 'hmm, i disagree, here's why':

i saw a post on there responding about the whole 'how nsfw/kink artists can realistically promote their stuff with twitter likely going tumblr-levels of censor-y soon' and this person mentioned just visually censoring works like cropping or using those black bars.

.... where it's just a dick or nips and the rest can sorta skate under "vanilla art", but: the only problem is kink artists.... can't.... really censor..... the whole dang thing

putting aside the whole point that these companies don't like nsfw art period, and are more just hacking away at the lewdest stuff first, what do you do for incest art where the fun taboo "is" the whole-person and more the relationship dynamics? censoring sexual private bits doesn't remove what these platforms would take offense (har har) at - likewise for hypno art, where again, the act and depiction "is" the taboo" ... and it shows by being one of the most censored kinks across the board and across platforms. (right up with menstrual blood, strangely. I never got why that one seems to twig companies more than anything.)

ditto re: even for "visual" kinks that are slightly more straightforward like uniform fetish when, again, the whole getup is the kink ... it'd be kind of silly just to censor the cap or the boots or .... fucking, i don't know, the insignias?  it's a very similar whack-a-mole game where all it takes is somebody screeching that you're fetishizing fascism (i am lol), and apparently that's a taboo enough statement to get you nuked even when there's "technically" no dick or nips or whatnot in the art itself.

so yeah i strongly disagree with that twitter post.  i'm not going to say it's throwing kink artists under the bus (I don't think the author meant it like that, and i'd rather approach it more with good faith), but i do resent the fact that it's not always that simple.
