oh, it was so cool! it was a very rough first hour or two of struggling, but I learned some new tricks and things I didn't know before, so it's always a win. honestly, the hardest part was figuring out how to format the micro-sd card i was using to work with the 3ds. luckily, i had a friend who'd done it pretty recently who helped me figure it out/shared the program they used to do it.
my library rn is mainly fire emblem, but that's what i'm most interested in playing from older consoles anyways. (want to get some zelda, need to snag mgs1 from a friend. not sure where else to even start.)
definitely agree that there will be more people thinking about owning older games and making sure they don't rely on a service to get them.
the whole thing with the playstation shop removing movies from accounts a week due to not having the rights or whatever that was really strikes me as why you gotta have your own copy of things independent of a service. hate games as a service, if i buy something once, i'm not going to buy it again. it's mine now. i used to be pretty into digital movies when it was novel, but i'm a hard copy gal now. it's fun to have copies of what i want, and i don't have to wait for the internet to decide if i can watch it or not.
