alright: i sat down, thought about it, and I got this: 1) Petty but presumably justified revenge, 2) protection of the nestlings (those who are weaker or in need), and 3) geese. I had a lot of fun thinking of three things and then tying them together.
I'm just a big fan of geese, tbh. We had them as a kid and I never knew I was supposed to be scared of them or how aggressive they could get, so I always was super friendly to them as a kid when I saw them in not at home places. It never backfired, which good for kid me, I guess.
There's just something cool about geese--especially canadian geese--and how doggedly protective and aggressive they are, but also how loyal they can be.
