she isssss. actually debated on adding my own rei thoughts here since the OP had some interesting comments that didn't feel *wrong* (and were fun to chew on), but doesn't quite wholly feel right either.
maybe it's reserved for another post, but rei's always felt piscean in a way that's hard for others to grasp if they're not familiar with the headspace; less that she doesn't have interiority, but almost that there's *too much* and it's all a bit exhausting to grapple with, so it's easier to remain in the bird-cage of one's own mind and simply shape reality from within... until the time's right (which looks like apathy which is not wrong, but also it's very "aware" apathy). actually physically acting wouldn't have changed a dang thing, either way, given how much control gendo/ritsuko/the others had over her, until EOE where you do see all of that restraint break forward.
