not getting a lot of drawing / replying done 'cause i started a new beagles: empire route and cindered shadows as a treat : D
  • HUBERT OH GOD I'M BACK and apparently i didn't even get his best class the first playthrough 'cause you need two dark seals?!!!
  • one of my twists to this playthrough is i'm not using any end class I've used before, so that basically forces me into all of the DLC final classes (dark flier, war monk, trickster, great knight, etc) and/or a few I hadn't done in base game.  focusing a lot on snagging those mad attributes (wrath+vantage combo like old times, lifetaker+aegis+pavise on mages so they're fuckin' killing machines, lmao. makes hard seems like easy.)
  • yuri totally reminds me of Legault. kind of vaguely older shady purple haired laid back thief with some major bi vibes that's sleezy but with a heart of gold. i likey. not sure if i likey enough to not romance either manuela/jietz/hubert, but i likey.
  • I also weirdly like constance a hell of a lot - she's theatrically derpy enough with her sunlight gimmick being actually kind of funny, but still has enough of a personality outside of it that it's believable?
  • team'll probably shake out to be f!byleth / doreatha / eddie / hubert / yuri / constance / jietzra / bernadette.  debating on hapi but that team's bigger than my usual already ...
  • to which - wowowow doreatha and manuela are Gay As Fuck and i love it. might do some spicy artwork of 'em. definitely a hard OTP.
  • pleasantly surprised with the characters / cast of CS! I lol'd out loud at Lindt noping out of the whole deal in the first conversation - it really reminded me of the surprising humor that I enjoyed in the first playthrough. (and that to me, has been lost in every part of the War phase.)
  • more to come since i'm on the ... third? (fighting the bots protecting the chalice?) mission of CS, and right after flayn got kidnapped in base game.

something that's always puzzled me is why the indie music scene is so much more ... chill? discourse-wise than indie comics/fandom/etc.

i know that's maybe false and the only reason why I don't see the drama is not being in it - but i can't help but compare the difference between Hozier's arsonist character doin' his thing, or having a song subtly about domestic abuse in a not-clear-cut sort of way versus some hapless indie comic artist getting fuckin axed to the ground by antis/discourse for depicting not even that much in creations? good example being the latest hissy fit over - eh fuck it, i don't give a shit.

but like what happened there? why is it that music has kept that intensity and sort of edgelord vagueness?  is it more ... communal, in emotions (thus making it easier to sympathize with)?  I was going to say 'because it can't be experienced out of context, music is music' - except you can take lyrics out of context? I don't really think it's a 'who makes it' sort of thing either 'cause you get plenty of folks from all walks of life making both, if you dig deep enough?

basically whatever music has there in terms of intense edgelordy ~connection~ minus the discourse i want that lol
