- Alfonse/Veronica/the Askr gang - for FEH "oc's", wow their writing really started shining in Book 3 to the point I appreciate them as much as a console FE character, which I never thought I would say. Veronica staying a villain but in that loveable 'FINE i'll help you out' sort of bookish exasperation as she keeps getting dragged in the protagonists shenanigans, plus her endearingly close bond with Xander (console FE character) weirdly warms my heart in a whole ... make-a-AU-with-a-FE-character sort of way for obvious reasons. Love her bad-ending incarnation as Thrasir, too. Alfonse gets a mention for actually not being a dumbass lord as far as walking into traps (that, plot twist - he's already planned for). also tell me i'm not the only one that ships lif/thrasir hardcore
- VALTER. oh sweet jesus i worship his nasty ass now :D He was always a 'oh cute boss but eh' in a so-so FE for me, interestingly more raepy than FE tends to go as a trope, and his lines reflect that still gloriously - I do appreciate the translators for not watering the villains down. Just... still so schlocky ridiculously unhinged and quite frankly a monster of a tank. Black Knight doesn't hold a candle to his 'park within enemy range, end turn, mop the entire fuckin arena raid battle on 1 hp' ease, and apparently his introduction map made earlygame players suffer living hell which amuses me lol.his lvl 40 quote was cute as hell too /shot
- Midori - I can't stand everything Fates essentially represents for the series (fanservice, pay-for-another-ending), but the whole 'cute tiny lil apothecary girl WRECKS AN UNHOLY AMOUNT OF ASS OFUCK-' amuses me so, plus she's probably the most useful character for me unmerged aside from my +4 merged Valter at this point. Somehow i managed to win Navarre's Abyssal GHB 100% due to her and a bunch of dancers which i genuinely never expected to pass. :D
- Brave!Camilia - another Fates unit that warmed on me by sheer dint of her actually? kind of heartwarming? lines + sheer consistent kickassness. if Midori's my physical nuke, Camilia's my go-to magical nuke with the ever-useful Gravity allowing me to close in. Cute, just solid-all around, and I have a soft spot for wyvern riders. Very often i'll have an all-flying team with Valter+Camilia+Tibarn+Reyson+Haar.
- Tibarn has a soft spot carried over from PoR but also getting two 5-star tibarns on my very first roll. :D sadly he's a bit fragile these days, even if he's occasionally in my AR team.
- 'reyson is an ungodly good tank' is also something that never fails to amuse me how true it is, here.
Hate
- fuckin' Olivia, Caeda and Bantu cockblocked me when I was fishing for Hubert merges and made me loose a solid ~250 orbs in one night lul. never4get.
- Bantu gets another mention for a accidentally creepy 'Have you seen a little girl that goes by Tiki?" line that is distinctly... notttt the good kind of creepy for me lol. (I think what hits different than say, Valter, is the latter 300% knows he's a villain and rolls around in it and also gets killed in canon so yolo).
- I expected to hardcore love Narcian as another unhinged wyvern rider but he never quite stuck to me even with his lines. eh, they got old faster?
- another one in the 'i expected more' basket was surprisingly, Naesala. He wasn't terrible, but just... mediocre? both as a unit and not-sharp lines? Essentially he read as the very resigned RD self rather than the money-grubblin' PoR self, and comes off as a little flat because of it.
- why do we need four micaiah's again
- not hate, but Navarre is a miss for me, here? Just.. i can't grok on his personality here.
- all of the swimsuit/valentine's alts
bonus: characters you want to see in
- PETRINE for my sleezeboss squad, Rennac, Nasir, Etzel, Shinon,timeskip!hubert for shallow reasons, Renault, jill/tauroneo/zihark as a god damned Daein banner (throw in Almedha or Izuka for lulz?), Stefan, Calil/Largo as a Duo unit would be badass - somebody also mentioned Orson as a valentine's alt and my sides, yes.
