first world ficcer problems
Feb. 13th, 2021 05:21 pmevery so often i consider putting 'will beta-read/sensitivity read for medical trauma / disability junk / similar territory for dead dove and kink fics' in profiles whether it be Ao3, or one of those handy dandy sensitivity reader spreadsheets that floats around writer twitter occasionally
because specific research is gr8!
and i totally get/love how valuable real feedback is from real people (there's tons of subtle emotional undercurrents to mine from, aw yeah! and i suppose i do fit some pretty weirdly "niche' identities/experiences that are common in fics but not so common in terms of grabbing a bud with tangential experience who's still chill enough to read dirty delicious shit and comment thoughtfully on character arcs)
and then i think about uhhhh my personal rather all-encompassing 'anything in fiction goes' tastes...... and how i might accidentally overlook something that reads to "me" as no big deal (fuckpotato kink for one), that rather is 'cancellable territory' to the author's audiences, aaaaand then i get very tired very quickly about considering that whole question lmao :'D;
(that is to say i am more than happy to beta for dead dove fics and/or question marks regarding the above, if you don't mind somebody that has no standards LOL. it's got such rich potential! ;A; i miss kinkmemes which just unironically went full throttle in this territory, sob.)
