- (tool, browser extension) better twitter - combined with not having a feed, and posting my art on a queue much like tumblr, this extension is the third leg to being disconnected from twitter as far as consumption and the numbers game goes. it removes all of the numbers (followers, reblogs, comments, etc) from every page you view. it's gotten to the point i only hear about twitter drama through one of three discord servers I'm in. : P
- (tool) megablock - I need to add this to my "cancelled resources" page but been using this infrequently over the last year or two to pre-emptively reduce the number of harassers on the NSFW art account. it blocks everyone who's liked or reblogged a specific tweet, which is excellent if say, you find one of those "big" call-out tweets against other nsfw artists.
- if you're a FE fan and haven't heard of serenesforest.net, you're in for a treat. :) a remnant of the 00's web in terms of "flourishing game site with active forums" - it's still going strong and I have to say as an active commenter in the forums, it's still pretty calm and cool. A few of my other favorite game forum/sites have loooong since been closed (FEO, FEP), but of any one of them to survive, SF is a solid one.
- I still need to write that "postmortem of switching to ubuntu/unboxing of the laptop' review, but barring anything wildly unexpected that goes down after the warranty is up, I can wholeheartedly recommend system76 for the "I wanna buy a linux computer to draw on but is pre-installed on a few models" experience. their support tickets were shockingly helpful for stuff they technically shouldn't(?) cover, like walking me through other 3rd party programs. it's enough that i'm starting to become 'that one linux mad prophet IRL friend that will not shut up about how great it is' lol
- speaking of GNU/linux, this philosophy / essays collection on the main site look super fun. I need to dig into that along with the old ACLU archives (i want to have a page on my site about censorship of the arts eventually, and how to circumvent), but it's always gratifying to see thoughtful posts on maintaining digital freedoms.
