monthly update, july edition
Jul. 23rd, 2022 08:36 pm- escaped from the second (and ideally last) cataract surgery in one piece last week. :D there were a ROUGH few days in there with post-op hurking my guts up for several days straight but got settled a few days ago and the eye itself is healing way faster than the last one. Basically feel back to normal now other than doing x7 eyedrops x2-4 times a day (temporarily, lol). still need new glasses, but those will come in due time after the final green-light appointment.
- scheduled the first apartment tour next week with more to come in the month!~ now that the surgeries are done, gonna make it a priority to move back out if I can. found one that's actually a bigger space for cheaper than my last one, even with inflation. o.O it's an older building but that doesn't bother me as long as it's safe.
- woke up recently with an odd hankering to check out packers? feel like fate's having a giggle as a friend passed the link to this shop to me somewhat recently, and either way this was such a charming shop to browse through. sent a nice message through email and apparently made the shop owner's day. something to check back out when I'm all moved!
- (I wouldn't describe it as a gender thing as much as a ... it's partially a confidence thing, but it's not wholly that? i resent applying label-boxes to everything, but it feels in the vein of what leather is to me, that fucking around with presentation and id. sometimes u just want a temporary dick, u kno?)
- in the last 10% of Falke - fixing specific panels and the "last ten bugs" of each page ... was delayed due to aforementioned eye procedure but I've been slowly getting back to drawing. Want to get a proof to the printer by end of July ... and holding the emulated games as a reward to wait until then.
- coworkers were absolutely amazing and adorable with all of them personally messaging me saying they missed me while gone, and to not work too hard on that first day back. T_T really lucked out on this group and it's a delight to hear from them unprompted that they actually enjoy work as well. It's been the singular goal of mine as a manager to leave them in a better place where I've found them, and so far, nailing that there.
hope y'all have been hale and happy. <3
