May. 22nd, 2024 07:18 pmbeen happily busy lately; have a smattering of what i've been up to:
* spending most of my energy on drawing the gunter/corrin doujinshi (tentatively titled ashes and ghost). re-lettered the whole thing last night and discovering krita's deceptively powerful when it comes to this level of paneling/lettering; i'm roughly halfway through as far as drawing the 3 strips and hope to post one inside of two weeks. :3 not gonna lie it's an unreasonably good blend of hellsing-ish gorn and very kinky vibes; my art's leveled up exponentially with doing this which is always a delight to see. also quite pleased with how disciplined/focused my new project mentality has been towards with actually completing the doujin versus sputtering out halfway through. time will tell if it holds; but i've blocked off the rest of Q3-Q4 of this year to complete this; it'll be genuinely cool to see how tightly i land on target with my estimated mental deadlines.
* released and got print copies of NaZine! definitely using the same printer for ashes and ghost; i think they'll be able to pull off the doujinshi feel. there is chatter about doing vol2 of NaZine as it's attracting the good kind of attention; if you think you'd like to create for it (and aren't already in the server), talk to me on email or DM ~ i'll want to know a little about you and your plans, but don't be shy!
* drawing wrist RSI is about 95% back to normal; can draw in multiple chunks of 30-50 minutes now. effectively i'm back to drawing just as much pre-injury, just being a little smarter about taking breaks. the other arm i fell on is likewise mostly back even though you can still see several bruises, next thing on the list to fix is the secondary cataracts and the first procedure will happen inside of a month.
* was quoted in 404 media (a semi-new journalist outlet i enjoy reading on average; lots of articles about censorship and tech) about pixiv's concerning censorship changes. might not be the last time this happens on the topic ~
* website revamp is basically done aesthetics wise (link to on-line test page) other than making a functioning log. i also want to start moving files over to NFSN since the free trial's about to run out oops lol.
otherwise just.... reading (actually managed enough books so far that i might be within my goal of 75 books this year), paring down on material/inmaterial stuff. might start watching a bunch of old movies or give the new fallout tv series a whirl (one gifset in particular was rather convincing lol) dayjob's going okay, no changes on that front (fine by me). i kind of like this current balance of independent busy-work-but-not-too-busy.
