this year has been a lot of trying to set up good habits that ironically i think have been paying off. isnt it so annoying when good habits actually work :D
* experience at least One New Media a day (game/book/movie/song) so regardless how much the rest of the day is unmemorable / sucks ass (or if the media itself sucks ass and immediately dump-worthy), you can at least say you tried A Thing and done something new. it also goes in the giant spreadsheet that is the spiritual successor to my goodreads rating list. (i am historically notorious for hyperfixating on one Media for years on end so i'm trying to break that.)
* work at least 10 minutes a day on the current coding/comic project. if you don't feel like drawing, do speech bubbles, layout work, or coding.
* reblog at least 1 (one) art from yourself when you do inevitably click into bsky/baraag for 5 seconds before remembering why you loathe those platforms (lol). promoting myself makes me feel slimy enough i tab out of it, which is kind of a win/win in a way.
* doing two to-do tasks a day you've been putting off (< great for breaking executive dysfunction stuff re: replying digitally or via letters). all ya gotta do is hit that threshold of two, which is easier now when i can do it quickly in between meetings before overthinking it.
between the above and working off of a quarterly goals system, it's remarkable seeing how well this works with my specific brain neurosis. feels like an underrated part of becoming an adult is figuring out what kind of mental organizing system works with you vs everyone else.
