kradeelav: Dr. Kiriko (amused)
(copy/pasted my thoughts from a private discord server)

your mileage may vary, but it feels like there's a very fascinating arms race (to a less-intense degree than twitter/tumblr) going on on bluesky that's shaping the future wave of tools that protect folks from art harassers.

an example is if you subscribe to a blocklist full of antis
/art harassers (for example), those blocks don't show up on apps like clearsky vs manual blocks. and creative harassers are hating that b/c they can't use apps like clearsky to mass-target people anymore by reverse-tracking down who's blocked them manually.

(writing this down because i'll eventually have to add a section to my cancelled resources page about this)

abstractly, it almost feels like a more granular version of how the fediverse blocks whole instances. sadly most instances block baraag (aethy to a lesser degree, both are which are known for supporting free expression in fiction) but the choice is taken out of your hands. in such a weird way i feel like you have more fine control on bluesky with this edge case.

tangent: you can also apparently request to have your information obfuscated on clearsky (still testing this process); it won't stop other information brokers from scraping who's blocking you/who you're blocking (since that's public information in the code), but it seems like the most popular site for that right now.
