getting reports (email screenshots, etc) that neocities and itch.io no longer allow ageplay (eg, lolisho, cub..) artistic works, particularly if they're mass reported. just, be careful and have a backup if that fits ya or what you create.

one of those 'we'll look the other way if nobody reports them but we'll have to pull if it gets attention b/c otherwise registrars will threaten to yank the entire site' situations.

( I'm in the process looking for alternatives for myself and friends and sending out a few email inquiries about TOS elsewhere, but sigh. siiiigh. this is annoying. )

That's incredibly annoying and disappointing. :/ I've been wanting to look for a new host myself to begin with for other reasons and this just gives me more incentive to get working on that. (Once I have the spoons to do some more webdev work.) Had no idea about itch.io though, that is just as annoying and disappointing to see.

Well that's just...odd, for lots of reasons, given both places' "nah, go nuts, we don't care" previous statements. I'm supposing it may once again be tied to payment processors, and mass reporting, as you note.

It's a shame with Neocities too, given that free-wheeling ol' web 1.0 ethos, plus it being free, ya know? Ah yi yi yi. Been on this earth too long to not be shocked anymore, but it sure would be nice to not be tired for once :'D And give every artist a freakin' break for once, even if the content is not to my liking.

Kind of amazing how everything just keeps getting worse forever 🥲

Thanks for the heads up, I don't think this would affect my site but it's good to know. I def don't trust people on Neocities (the users, not the staff) to mind their own damn business
