- i am 10000% going full bore with conquest.
hoshidans are cringe(/s) (i don't actually mean that if they're your beloved blorbos, i respect dedication to blorbos, but it is kind of hilarious how predictably 'hisssSSSS' my reaction was to them what with the 'NOHRINS WILL NOT BE FREE OF THEIR SINS' total authoritarian blinker-blindness even in the first 5-6 "neutral"" chapters. garon's obviously the endgame boss twat along with iago but i really love how nohrians are so very clearly villain coded but allowed to breathe with their own little character quirks and be the stars of their own show in conquest.there was a really hot xander dubcon incest fic i read a few months ago that i'm totally feeling the vibes of in this game 10/10 reading badhotwrong fics before actually playing the game is fun(<this has happened at least like three times now lol. what can i say, good fics lets u savor that shit like a good red wine)
- gunter, jakob, camilia, beruka, kaze, and niles are shoo-in characters that i'm leveling up/supporting all the way. possibly nyx too from interesting things i hear about her whole weird age dealio and dark mage stuff! i'm genuinely surprised that there's so many characters i want to know, this is already like way more of the 3H cast that i was interested in if imma be bluntly honest. :o (which was all of like, edelgard, hubert, and sylvain) like i'm already enjoying this game way more than 3H, both in a sense of actually making me LAUGH (MULTIPLE TIMES!!) in c-supports alone, character design, levels, worldbuilding design, etc etc.
- i am like 60% set on marrying gunter because ossan weakness, but currently kaze is making me go :eyes: (which i was NOT expecting tbh)
- i am mostly aware of the big spoilers! due to osmosis, FEH, watching a conquest let's play last year, etc. thankfully spoilers don't bother me. fun fact, i have a huge soft spot for camilia due to brave!cam hard carrying my first six months of FEH and
i kinda want to bury myself in her tiddiesdraw hertiddies - WOW IS THIS GAME SO PRETTY god i missed these low poly kind of graphics TaT seriously like this weird perfect blend of really pretty cut scenes and character body language (!!!!!) but also not like 'overwhelm my eyes with blingy bling' like i feel like so many AAA games do. that said, playing this on my laptop screen at full-screen with a gamecube-to-usb controler is probably not what the devs were imagining the setup would be XD
- also holy shit the worldbuilding is TOP TIER. JAW DROP. seriously jaw drop at the nohrian castle with it being a literal inverted spiral into the ground that reminds me of stone tower in majora's mask with the creepy red and even the first typical "forest level" looks like fungi spores writ large and it;s just so. earnestly creative.
in contrast to 3H where i was bored to pieces at everything visual- knowing what i've seen of conquest's level design it is so reassuring to know it'll just get even better ahhh
- story wise a lot of the early chapters are "WHAT" "what" "WHAT THE FUCK" but like, in a mostly good way of just rolling with it because i'm still enjoying all the vibes. lilith's fish... form thing is just. amazing. where the hell did they pull that design from. where the hell did they pull corrin's dragon design.
- i am getting the sense of a little derpiness in terms of the pacing of the story (bamBAMBAM) and general tropes (lol dead anime mom and sword of the stone thing) but that's honestly also a huge compliment as related with the last post i feel like everything's optimized to hell and back these days and like detroit: become human, there's a real sense of endearing quality to fucked up characters in a fucked up weird gonky game with your back figuratively to the wall. this. this is what i love.
