It's always so lovely to hear your thoughts! :D :D FASCINATING observation with the ossan ships, and would agree. to your point, a popular one feels like hank x connor from DBH, or the recent pirate show i can't remember the name of, but for every rare wildy-accepted gems like that there's tons that go under the radar, with a sharp, sharp cut-off in terms of interaction/fanwork. it's like it's either the focus or really not.
(handshake emoji with the appeal there 'as you get older' too- since we've been talking about hans elsewhere, feel like the vibe of ... life experiences adding nuances and flavor and relateability is a huge thing there.
Not a worry at all re: FE -- i've got a number of friends who say the same thing; it's got a very specific/rigid/unforgiving gameplay. thankfully it's also one of those where it's easy to spin off into fanworks out the wazoo ~
