a possible angle for the medical caregiving route, if you're in the US: sometimes you can get in-home supportive services through the state. how to get on has a guide for getting a caregiver -- i haven't followed it myself, but ive followed their other guides for ssdi & housing and they're really good. fair warning, the author passed almost 2 years ago, so the info might be a little out of date, but it's a really good starting point.
