kradeelavinteresting little parable heard through dad through a texas developer and who knows where beyond that. paraphrased.
so one time there was a stupid kid that always hung out in front of a barbershop.
the owner of the barbershop didn't think too highly of the kid and would mess with him with a little game, with some others watching.
the owner would hold out a quarter in one hand, and a dollar bill in the other. the kid always took the quarter, and the owner would just laugh every time.
this happened for about a year until one day one of the other men asked the kid: "I know you ain't stupid. why do you always take the quarter?"
the kid answers:
"the day I do is the day the game stops."
