cool link roundup since there's been a few lately:

- interactive site that walks you through - piece by piece- of how the engineering of a mechanical watch works. apparently i distracted a whole team of engineers one day when i sent this link to a buddy lol.

- warez dictionary - TIL what the random strings of letters/numbers mean sometimes when looking up subs. (also the main domain is neat).

- similarily via glasshard: floor796. giant animated web page of .... life?

- totse.com - a forum of the old, old web. a little edgelordy - consider it a place where people post the anarchists' cookbook liberally - but a neat cultural insight on what early internet discussions were like.

- apparently president xi stayed in iowa for a few weeks back in 1985? absurdly fascinating, kinda wholesome, and this excerpt made me lol. "The Dvorchaks put Mr Xi up in their son's bedroom - he was away at college at the University of Iowa at the time. If the Chinese president had an opinion about the room's Star Trek wallpaper, he has managed to keep it to himself."

- possible easy CSP integration/snap app on linux? haven't tested it yet, looks promising.

- view vagrant story models - (note: you need the model files to upload)

- a great writeup on "PS1 graphics"

MAY YOUR DESCENDANTS OF SOME BRANCH OF YOUR FAMILY BE BLESSED WITH BOUNTIFUL FRUIT @ THE CSP ON LINUX THING. That's literally one of the most worrying things I, uh, worried about if I ever had to switch to Linux! (Though seems like Wine is the one to go with, if you don't want to lose most of a Windows workspace?) And it's based on version 1 too, which is what I still have ;3;

also that xi thing in Iowa reminded me of the Chinese-built trains in the state...I forgot which town though, so it means I can't look it up oops, but there's a semi-existing relationship with the Chinese in Iowa going back to theeee late 19th century? It was actually fascinating to read!
