man sometimes when somebody verbally sharts out a truly terrible piece of news that isn't the least bit relevant, personal, or useful (like not even political goss as smalltalk, it's usually some piece of horrifically violent crime that i logically know happens all the time), i will 100% point blank say 'I don't need to know that.' in response and it does a pretty good job in making them not verbally shart. in front of me at least.

honestly i wish i could frankly say 'i already genuinely despise the world, why do you want me to have even more reason to?'

but that'd be even more of a misanthropic killjoy and i actually do t r y not to be one publicly lol
