I definitely struggle to balance personal tendencies and incorporating new ideas/influences in my work. It really is like learning a completely new language and vocabulary x_x
I also notice that when I start adopting and studying characteristics from other artists I enjoy that my "vision" of what is feasible expands a lot, and the results are very exciting and good-looking...but the act of drawing during that period of study is...for lack of better words, kind of also constipated? ^^;
Hoping you can find a happy medium with parts of the style that do spark joy! Urasawa's draftsmanship has a lot of great qualities to it and I can imagine that to study from it is strenuous.
