somebody mentioned mrs frizzle (beloved teacher from the equally beloved magic school bus series) recently - and like most 90's kids i was always deeply fond of her, right. great series, surprisingly ahead of its time, learned cool shit about science.
i also had - with the unshakeable conviction of a kid - an equally deep certainty that mrs frizzle was some flavor of gender fuckery/trans.
i cannot stress to you how much this was before i even knew transness was a thing/possible. literally at least a decade before i first heard of it on tumblr. this was like.... even way before my fundie-homophobic stage, pretty sure it was before i was ten or some shit.
all i knew is that she radiated incredible Gender Fuckery Energy as it was understood by my pre-ten-years-old brain and it was possible(!) to be super cool(!!) with it.
