kradeelavlinks are pilin' up again! mostly a mix of design & awareness this time.
* have used fontsinuse for 7 or so years; not sure if I ever linked here. extremely useful reference to narrow down context & eras for fonts.
* a dear friend here linked me this article on "9 basics of komawari" which is apparently the JP theory to manga paneling. honestly still blowing my mind!
* a creator's guide to comics devices - don't let the twee art fool you, this is genuinely an excellent resource if you find yourself stuck on a comic page and need ideas on how to make it mesh together.
* don't talk to the police - I actually watched this back in december; genuinely engrossing talk that *really* drives home how easy it is to spill information.
* the EFF's guide to surveillance self-defense (activists & protestors included) - this webpage's been around for a while,
* protester's guide to smartphone security - not applicable for me but given a lotta folks are
* relatedly: infosec for activists - well written paper also in pdf form to share
* i was trying to buy some second-hand manga (MADK) recently and a friend mentioned alibris is basically what amazon used to be; heartened that they have somewhat niche manga.
* cel-hub; new cool site that hosts anime cells from people who collect them. the "still" version of sakugabooru
* candid portraits of americans in country fairs - great reference to draw a different flavor of faces.
* sherwoodforestlibrary (virtual zine library)
* farscape is officially on youtube! to people like me who have issues accessing tubi it's a marvelous time to watch it :D
