always appreciate hearing your thoughts on this - on reflection, you're absolutely right. more abstractly it's generally framed in different terms (too many people think verbal/emotional abuse doesn't "count" versus physical) so it doesn't immediately feel the same flavor of cruelty to outsiders but the damage is done either way to those it's perpetrated against.
