CS was EXCELLENT and technically i haven't beaten the final dragon boss but here's the thoughts on the rest of it:
- Constance is my forever fav from the DLC omg. love how interestingly un-feminine she is in a way that bucks all archetypes and yet makes her feel well realized instead of gimmicky... just straight up loud and brash and does not give a single fuck about most other things. like, i could see the character being slightly neutered with the underlying reason of why she wants her House restored because She Feels Loneleh And Needs A Man! sort of vibe but no she WANTS THE GODDAMN HOUSE RESTORED bitch! 'cause she's the overlord!!! BOW BEFORE YOUR NEW GENIUS MASTER! etc lol. i also love how the game respected her enough to be genuinely shrewd enough to see through Yuri's schemes, like A+ non-lords bein' sneaky there.
- you are the only person that would get this but it's a little amusing how much i keep double-taking at Yuri thinking he's Zihark ahahaaa; the color palette is ever so close enough what with that light purple and white design, and them both being slim swordsies, and he's got that vaguely sarcastic side behind the "niceness" which i use in quotes for a reason, hah. There's other things but ALSO OTHER THINGS MATTER lol.
- i was both impressed and surprised how yandere they took with Alfric(?) - like wow, FE doesn't typically go into slightly uncomfortably real 'stalker goes on a rampage 'cause he got pissy from an unloved boner and Jelly', but boy howdy they sure did there. Added a sense of much-needed realness and urgency that other tropes wouldn't, tbh.
- loved Alfric turning into the dragon monster thing, brought back the "horror" aspect that i think would've fixed a lot in the second half of this game that the first half had in boatloads - as you said once in a different post, that whole body horror that the Crests were capable of? The whole draining-the-blood-of-the-Wolves things was nuts too (also wrow fuck that chapter).
- indiana jones scheme of stealing the Chalice was totally unexpected but was strangely endeared by it; made that whole world suddenly more tangible when they actually were shown along the Abyss/trench under the bridge. Wish the main game had more of those, mm... "smaller?" moments?
