Just completed Temple of Time in my very leisurely Twilight Princess 8-heart run; I had one hell of a moment where - say, it was past the midpoint of the temple where you've gotten the Dominion Rod, you're leading the mind-controlled statue back down the second half of the temple and having fun smashing the shit out of anything breakable with its hammer, right. So I hulk-smash one of those mechanical eye-spinner things, doot doot-

and then out comes FIFTY THOUSAND SPIDERS.

(the hell i missed that in my previous playthroughs??) needless to say my screech was nearly as impressive as the one in wind waker where i dropped in right on top of the fucking redead in your cabana's basement. :'D;;;;;;

Anyway, i wish i could say my past week has been better but .... lol..... it's honestly just a lot of "cleaning up" mentally from the past month. 95% recovered from a case of Delta; one last weird ass frankenstein body glitch with my ear to fix there (loooooong story) and then I should be done. promotion slip is on the CEO's desk now (everyone signed off 'yes' on it) but it's on the bottom of his to-do list considering some other shit that went down last week, still mourning the family cat but surprisingly Okay there, wincing at my giant stack of things i owe folks ...

mentally i'm still not in a great place but i'm better than where i was last week [shrug]

ahaha the TP run has been honestly amazing as a little hour-long thing every day or two that's really reminiscent of what life after school was like; just being able to sink into something where you're successful at A Thing. We've talked about trying to resurrect what was fun to us in our childhoods and weirdly enough old video games seems to actually Work better than other things. :v

Aaaa that’s a wonderful idea, I’m hoping I can implement something like that myself soon since my new work schedule will, more or less, be aligned with actual school schedules soon! It sounds like a great way to decompress and I’ve recently discovered the switch has a whole library of NES and SNES games (including SUPER METROID AAAA MY FAAAVE) and there’s something really exciting about having hand held version of literal old after school video game staples of my childhood to turn to for a quick decompress!

I think part of why it -works- is it’s that gamification part our brains find so addictive/rewarding. Maybe something during the day isn’t going how we wanted or we feel listless of in a small d depression but something easily accomplished and engaging can be a nice little booster! More on this after some science. (It’s science if you write it down right? XD blog science!)

So glad to hear you're doing well, or better, all things considered. Getting over losing a loved well sucks so much and it's never easy. I hope you're able to distract yourself in a healthy way so that way you can just... breathe.

I hope you get the promotion! Does it involve more responsibility and more money? I hope just the latter, but both is probably to be expected. No idea how it works in your industry! I'm still stuck in student mode (￣￣|||)

more money, and a title (sr designer, rather than just designer) - ironically, i've basically been doing the level of work that it's at for about, ahhh, 7 months? so it's a retroactive thing LOL. thing is, i actually really like the company/work so it's this tightrope of asking for advancement that justifies the work, while also still keeping what i actually love to do. corporate US is a bit twisty.

<3 And hah!!! You wouldn't be wrong - the leather was actually me sort of saving up for a nee leather jacket (to replace my old faithful one) for my birthday a few months ago, so good eye. ;)
