Sep. 23rd, 2021 10:24 pmshort of a new FE or remake being announced, thought the Nintendo Direct this evening had surprisingly good offerings. :o Usually I end them only mentally placing one (at most) titles on my to-look-into list, usually either the latest zelda (series has been a disappointment lately, imo, I think I'm one of the few people that soured on BOTW) or the aformentioned FE. This one, however ...
- 100% getting disco elysium: final cut. I was already procrastinating on getting it, but this sealed it. (reminds me I need to get hades too). just hope the text isn't as difficult to read as 3H was. >_<
- that new kirby 3D game looks way more fun than it should be. dare i say it has the smallest hints of what made super mario sunshine my favorite? I just hope it's not as railroady as the latest few marios (oddesy felt .. strange, and cramped, weirdly) ... there's a 2000's "simplicity' to the graphics and an exploration quality that drew my eye, imo.
- OoT/MM on the switch? Sonic 2 aka my first literal childhood game? finally getting to play Super Mario 64?!* yes! I hope this Switch Online isn't a subscription service, though. :l I tend to drop games for months/years before marathoning for a few months.
- that Yoko Taro-san Voice of Cards RPG might be the first "new" RPG I might seriously consider picking up. Watched a let's-play of Drakengard 3 a few months ago and I could see myself digging his storytelling.
- KOTOR on the switch is another insta-buy. I technically already completed the game in college on steam, but my biggest regret deleting my steam library to make room for my aging laptop was deleting KOTOR (even above AC2), so it'll be a delight to have it permanently. now prayer circle on getting KOTOR 2 eventually so I can finally play that one too!!
- I can't quite get into bayonetta's gameplay as well as metroid dread, so those are probably a pass: but I'm happy from afar that they're still going. (I think i enjoyed bayonetta more as an anime and the smash character, lmao)

Date: 2021-09-24 08:56 pm (UTC)and oh, wow, thanks for the heads-up re the new kirby game! i have intensely fond memories of Kirby Super Star & the 2d Kirby games in general... the last 3d outing i recall in this series was the one for 64, which was actually really solid, with the only downside being that it was kinda too easy. (a sort of endemic flaw to the kirby series, tbh; hoping they're able to tune it to be a bit more challenging this go-round. donkey kong country returns + tropical freeze did pretty well on their releases, after all, and those were definitely (satisfyingly!) more tricky than the original series)

Date: 2021-09-24 09:29 pm (UTC)heard about the easiness with the difficulty - here's hoping they've learned the lesson there and add some new difficulty tweaks. given how shockingly hard super mario sunshine was ... i can see some ways that they could borrow from there lol.
