one of my most normie but incredibly obscure guilty headcanons is that matthew mercer (early S2 especially) would make for a fantastic facecast for zihark

i had a bro friend in college (ironically also a dnd DM) who looked ridiculously similar to mercer and could make the same kind of exaggerated facial expressions as he could. also that kind of chill in-it-for-the-cool-story personality but with a surprising warmth to all the players (considering, lol that i was the only girl in that gang of dnd players and we were all on 4chan in between turns. :P )

i don't follow critical role anymore (molly was my favorite, and i lost interest after he died) but i think of that every time that fandom comes up heh

Matt Mercer has such a wonderful face. I'm me so the older he gets the more I'm attracted to him, but he's just got a charm to him regardless that's magnetic. I'm not sure who you'd be using him as a faceclaim for but it's a fantastic choice regardless.

Side note: also stopped watching when Molly died but kinda kept up through osmosis on Twitter. Molly doesn't come back, but his body does. Twice. And what they do with that is really fucking cool. I'm sure there's synopsis' somewhere (or just Molly's wiki page) but so many people are pissed about it and I'm just like "that's fucking awesome I love this stupid game so much" lmao

yoooo thanks for telling me! (another one of us molly fans ahah!) :D i had a sneaky feeling b/c he was such a beloved character that wasn't the last time he'd be around, and that gang's creative enough to do some wild shenanigans there.

Molly's original story was he'd crawled out of the ground and had no idea who he was, so he made a new name and life for himself.

So when he died, he got resurrected again, and didn't know who he was, so he made a new name and life for himself. Matt played him as an NPC. The not-Molly ended up being the big fucking bad at the end of the game.

They killed him, and he died, and got resurrected by Taliesin's new character with a successful 2% chance roll to cast Divine Intervention, but only after a previous resurrection attempt had failed.

So Taliesin's amazing fucking luck let him bring back Molly once again.

Except he didn't come back as Molly, he came back as yet another character who didn't know who he was prior.

But honestly, at this point, Long May He Reign indeed.

omfg, i love it, the fact that not-molly ended up as the big bad is the most anime thing i've heard and i mean that in the absolute best, most extra, cheesy way. :D
