ahh i think i felt that recently: "if you cant find joy in work, you can at least try to make it joyful."

the beauty of poetry is there's a thousand and one ways of feeling the meaning. :) I love that one too; my personal thought was flavored slightly with "service" as a whole aim in itself - and yet you touched on a lovely transformative side as well.

Oooh, I rather like this! For kind of obvious hits in the kink brain but also cause I’ve really been thinking a lot about this as I’ve kind of, moved careers latley and done a lot of mental rearranging of furniture:

I really do like being in service positions, but I think where you diminish the servant’s humanity is where it becomes unbearable. I love to be helpful, to follow to aid, sometimes to lead in certain situations, but usually with the end goal of boosting others, and nothing has underlined that more than the work I do now compared to the work I did before.

Both are service, but one is far more joyful. I feel like I’m a public servant not a public convenience. One has autonomy, chooses their work and to whom they serve, the other is little more than a machine.
