kradeelavthis salt is going to come out one way or another so better here than twitter but ahhhh man i miss the dA 2005-10-ish level of creativity
everything today blends so much together
i am pretty sure i saw way more "unique" styles on dA back then, at least all on one site - industry giants like zedig, amazing french shipper artists simultaneously in twilight and naruto and american revolution ships at the same time (respect), this one god tier artist know for mixing traditional work with crazy shit digitally that i'm pretty sure became gallery famous, endling with OCT stories that have legit made me tear up, fashion photographers, i go back to save my favorites there and boy do they hold up so much better than the stuff i saved off of twitter lmao
sure you could probably eventually lasso a few together on twitter but there was something magical about brogrammer game artists rubbing shoulders with fujoshi and high end fashion photogoraphers the styles sort of feeding off of each other, posting free tutorials, sketchdumps out the wazoo ..
wheras now you just get ... stuck in your "sphere" - pixiv for weeb shit, artstation for brogamer stuff, tumblr for homestuck/cartoon shit ... and to hell trying to find anything mildly raw on instagram.
design as a field is even worse at this with the fucking metallic filter and gradients. first it was flat stuff, then that one fucking blue,and then the elongated horizontal letters that make me want to stab an ice pick in somebody whenever i see it, and ANYWAYS i'm glad i'm at a job where i can subtly rebel and make kid's cartoon logos that wouldn't be out of place in the 90's. :l

(i'm actually not that annoyed today, was a good day, figured out a thing at work, thinking about picking up painting again and finishing up a few projects. :v just horrendous to search up inspiration LOL )
