zihark doujin plottin' + other stuff

sometimes i'll miss having my fire-emblem specific sideblog on tumblr (rip speedwing) because i could really still talk about the lore/gameplay bitching/etc between the tellius fondness and feh, and i know there'd be some folks who would like it.

but in hindsight i would pick so ...many ....fights lmao ....and mess up my 'no fights' streak i have somehow maintained LOL

the one time i got (minorly) harassed in the past was for a FE opinion, weirdly enough ... and these days there are a lot of lovely people on there with very incorrect opinions about 1% of the things i care about, unfortunately it's the part i care most about LOL, aka obnoxiously vocally censor-y towards lewd art they don't like*.  FE series picked up a lot after fatesawakening which I'm not really happy about  :l

(I'd say "anti" for clarity but at the same time i'm really loathe to use that term, likewise for "puriteen" outside of a private joking context with fellow lewd art creators ... i really dislike terms that lead to us vs them reductionist thinking. do think the latter is actually a lot more on point as far as the sheer amount of religious behaviors that gets exhibited but that's a different topic entirely. ) 
ahhhhhh oh well. time better used to create art. still trying to mentally plot out this potential zihark doujin while one of my eyes is fucking up (it got randomly more nearsighted all the sudden?). debating if i want to organize it by "season" (fall/winter/spring/summer) kind of much how PoR has subtle visual arcs there, but there's too many scenes across his lifespan that i wanna include in the doujin so that wouldn't work. going through the list of things i absolutely do want in there and so far i have: 

1. lethe's recruitment scene with zihark because the 'how many do you want me to cut down?~' line is... a m a z i ng. it's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment with bald-face-almost-sociopathic-ruthlessness that one absolutely wouldn't expect it from him almost to a OOC level but probably went a long way to endearing him to me lmao
2. zihark murderin' the shit out of izuka because that's another edgelord scene i've always wanted to see, dem expressions would be [chef kiss]. or maybe warning izuka away from muarim?
3. zihark/micaiah confrontation strip that's posted, cleaned up a bit
4. so much old school fanservice LOL, i wanna make my dA tween self delighted
5. a page dedicated to zihark/muarim, zihark/stefan, and zihark/shinon because apparently i slash ship him everywhere heheh
6. apparently my two brain cells here are 'fanservice and/or murderspree'
7. best pieces of old art?
8. there's some RD in-battle conversations that'd be rad as hell come to think about it... zihark vs pelleas for sure
9. zihark and actually getting a gdamn moment to talk about stuff in micaiah's army, that was another scene i'd give my left arm for.
10. 'i wonder what zihark's 3H student outfit would look like' oh NO-

ACTUALLY if anyone has a zihark idea they've been dying for me to draw lemme know. :3

Already loving the diversity of content that’s gonna be in this zine aaaaa!

It’s giving me some serious “throw it all in and the kitchen sink too!” Flavor of 90’s doujinshi! Where like, there were post script letters to the readers or post Mortem thoughts on the book contents, extra doodles, detailed information pages with little sections from guest artists, entire pages of hastily xeroxed in sketches on notebook paper!

Liking the idea of a seasonal arc to the contents! That would be neat!

ehehehe thank you, that is indeed the vibe i want to go for, plus a side of k0tteri's artbooks (have you seen them?). :3 truly beautiful little booklets of just - gobs and gobs of doodles. very much a work of "love", at least that uniform one and i've been chasing that high for a while haha.

Yessss~! I actually bought the uniform/guardsmen OC book, I love it so muuuch! Honestly just makes me want someone to pick up their og manga that features some of these characters haha! K0TTERI'S ART IS SO FUN.

I can toootally see you emulating something like K0tteri's work in this project! <3

that bit about not liking "us vs. them" terms ... spot-on. I used to be way more involved with that kind of discourse on tumblr but ... the amount of "pro-ship" folks who hadn't actually done any of their own thinking on the subject/actually held "anti" opinions themselves that they somehow thought were justified -- it was both frustrating and disheartening, and I ended up throwing my hands in the air and deleting my blog, thinking, "You guys would all switch ideologies in a heartbeat if someone gave you the right faux-woke emotionally manipulative argument!"

I'm not familiar with Zihark except from your posts but I'm still 👀 about this doujin. I was searching all over the other day trying to find a cool zine/doujin in an art style i liked (actually thinking "something like walonvaus's style), and I ambivalated too long, and the only one I liked sold out T__T This sounds dope.

aaaaaa that would wig me out as well, seeing those dears on tumblr not even think through things. i'm sure you've seen this pattern, but almost all of the nicest, most mature kink artists i've met are one that grew up in religiously controlled backgrounds so there's a sense of "lived in" thinking that reflects their growth rather than trying on worldviews like a costume.

that last bit really is the sweetest compliment ever, thank you so much. ;a; now i'm super curious at what you "did" find (the one that sold out), if you don't mind me asking?

I'm so glad you asked because when I checked, it was back in stock XD It's EDillustration's Kinktober 2019 artbook. And I was looking at KM Claude's print zines too, but it looks like they're out of stock as well T__T

and, i'd forgotten about that pelleas-zihark battle convo... gets me thinkin a little about what the dynamic between them in general would've been like. zihark's been around the block enough to know that pelleas isn't leader material, even if he's too polite/savvy to say so directly... unlike e.g. the approach he'd take with micaiah (so beautifully illustrated in your comic!), which is, y'know, direct and probing, i wonder if on some level he'd feel a little bad for pelleas and try to nudge him a bit, be helpful, etc, in the kind of "look we both know you're gonna get fired by the end of this but i can try to make your experience a little less shit for everyone" sort of way LOL

also i think it'd be cool to see some illustrations of young!zihark! i have a vague headcanon that he left home *quite* young to do the whole mercenary thing; dude probably had a 13-14-year-old slightly-jumped-up phase before he met his girlfriend and i bet he looked some combination of dashing and obnoxious :P
