life updatez ~ feb edition

end of the week was a little kinder than the beginning was, whew.

• i got a therapist! :o  knew i wasn't going to make it out of this year without a brain that wasn't a smashed bag of crabs (to borrow my favorite phrase from hellsing fandom referring to alucard) unless if I had somebody that vaguely understood medical wigginess. first session's set for next week and it's almost shocking how much I vibed with him considering i don't trust anyone lmao. turns out there's tons of therapists out there these days who'll do remote and cash-only sessions which is exactly what I had hoped for.

• started a wind waker 3-heart playthrough ~ paused the twilight princess run (i got scared of the hands in the twilight palace.... THEY'RE CREEPY OKAY).  just got past the section where you talk to Jabun, and before the Tower of the Gods. the OG game's still an absolute treat and I can't help but notice repeatedly how wonderfully tactile the gamecube process still is.  the controler feels a good-chunky, there's no loading screens other than the title screen ... the text is huge, it's a good kind of semi-mindless to unwind after a work day, but you don't feel weirdly "empty" like doomscrolling or gacha'ing. there's a sense of "oh i got this far! I can't wait to the next dungeon! :3c"

• half playing with a satirical twine game idea of 'trump or trudeau' lmao. if trump did half the stuff he's been doing in the last two weeks the shrieking would have been (rightfully) i n c r e d i b l e.

• in more art-completeness, have a zine in the works like "live wires" that's almost done that i had a lightning bolt of inspiration of about two weeks ago where it talks a little into my mixed feelings on identity and a little bit of leather. not dissing anybody or anything, just - sorting out extremely complicated feelings in a fun artistic space. I'm starting to really figure out how to do autobio zines with (to me) actual bite and humor which feels nice.

• i need to re-open my zine store now that i've got ... almost three new zines, actually. : o on my to do list.

• the sequel to "No Time for Caution" is out now~ :D I forgot to post about it between the hell that was last week.

Groans don't even get me started on trudeu. Is it really bad enough that americans are hearing about his bullshit too or did I forget you're canadian?

Just a mix of the gf being Canadian and a bunch of friends on the center-left side, and then the feeds I follow that are, hmm, 'old school ACLU freedom of speech" focused that have been covering the news there. (describin' them like that since they're a pretty different flavor of the more right-winged news the parents get which are also covering all of that, but in the way you'd expect.)

there's pros and cons to being nation neighbors, what can I say. :P
