- "bomb technician into icon designer" has got to be one of the most memorable career shifts i've seen. his design portfolio's fun as hell too, found it when on a disco elysium assets rabbit hole.
- i have been looking forever for a "tell me what happens when a computer boots on 101" that's not quite "explain like i'm five" level, like, i've dicked around in the BIOS panel a few times (
with that fucking useless asus during the dualboot saga), but also not like "attempt to read a CS-degree level manual and have to wikipedia every 3 words because shit doesn't make sense". lo and behold, this video did a beautiful job of actually Explaining what the fuck a computer does when it boots. you know. in case if you were wondering.
- https://search.marginalia.nu/ is a search engine that feels precisely catered to the dreamwidth audience. random old as balls fun shit of the internet. don't expect to search your handle and find yourself - go wide with terms like "art" or your niche interest and say goodbye to a minimal number of tabs. :P
- an analysis of 'ghost in the shell 2: that one basset hound scene'. i am a sucker for well-researched animation analysis on a technical, visual, and emotive level and this one was a joy to read. incredible vibes with the scene itself too. i dislike the word "wholesome' these days, but it's a scene that makes your heart softer if just for a little bit.

These are all neat! Thanks for sharing.
That search engine is so fun that I derailed my afternoon plans and read a lot of interesting articles instead, lol.

bwahaha noted, will ask ya next time! i just didn't want to be endlessly barraging you with explain-like-i'm-fifteen computer questions. xD
(tho actually, if you're in the mood / have a handy slideshow - the whole question of "what really happens when you type in a web address and hit enter?" would also be a mega fascinating one. :o
