there is something extremely wholesome/satisfying about like... randomly emailing [ lauded designers / programmers ] with a friendly heads up their RSS feeds are broken and getting into a fun chat with them via email after the fixes are done lol

like, there's a ton to say about being a good steward of the Old Internet (fixing articles and/or links, adding resources where appropriate) bla bla

but also

it's just fun to (metaphorically) yell 'o hey! you have cool shit!'  at somebody who you'd never ever cross paths with IRL.

third of my way through a new (unmentioned) queer/kink theory anthology book that came rec'd from somebody and thought it would totally be up my speed, in fact it mentions a bunch of orgs/figures I am Totally All About, except, uh...

> ends up making bingo chart / shot drinking game for the amount of times 'critique' 'political economics of sexual spaces' 'contextualize' shows up

le sigh lmao

listen, sometimes i just want thots on horny shit instead of wading through all this again!!

edit: turns out the two essays that actually looked meaty, i had already read in two other S/M books. aaargh!

edit2: WOW that was a waste of time. okay, scratch that, essays i would have fucking loved to read/write instead of that:
  • Can't take the Uniform (fetish) out of Leather - boys we're going here. on the staying power of uniforms and the id in leather community.
  • Degradation, kink, and femininity - what makes symbolic degradation such a live wire to the id, and yet so hotly contested and/or shied away from?
  • Corruption, the kink - shifting gears from service, and the individual letters of BDSM, to an exchange a little less known about, but no less beloved...
  • Bootlicking bootlickers - the politics of those that crave control placed on them (and how)
  • S/M in the Digital Age - replacing old catacombs with new haunts, how has the community shifted as the younger generation takes the torch from the old guard in decentralized private support groups, text chats, vlogging, and more? what have we gained in community? (what have we lost, and could recover?)
  • hacking id - queer, disabiled, transgressive sexuality and making shit up where few dare to tread.
