  • recovery for the eye procedure is at the boring stage of 'wait a few weeks and just let time do it's Thing' - I'll have to have the same cataracts removal in the other eye because of weird extreme nearsightedness issues which'll likely be in about 6-8 weeks so that's another fun thing coming but I have to admit I'm way, way less nervous about that one considering this past one was doable.  not fun, of course, but after about the first week 90% of the major weirdness is over.
  • my tentative ~*Year Plan*~ was to move back out to an apartment now that covid's less of a thing(?) after the second procedure but apartment prices are making me wince and the housing market is just plain weird so who even knows if that'll be a thing by the end of this year. a probable recession won't be fun but it'll honestly just be a lot of the same as the last two years - waiting, working, saving, waiting.
  • on the happier side I've been drawing again, and finally broke the thumbnail block on a delicious ~10pg collaboration comic written by JD that I'm basically describing as 'eroguro naziexploitation BL' :P  It's my spiciest work both in the erotics sense and also, ah, boldness of courting twitter disapproval, lol. Times like these that make me mega glad I'm no longer on the standard social media sites ... but either way the ink work is a treat and it's neat to be able to get back in the old comics headspace after so long; got a little dusty there (it's a little embarrassing how long it took to thumbnail out the beats) but my brain can still do them when it counts, haha. It's also been nice to interrogate (heh) myself as to why I like making edgier works as a rule and not that I have to have an "artist's manifesto" but there's been thoughts settling into a shape suspiciously like one that I'll likely mention in another post.
I'd normally write more but honestly recovering / working / drawing has been all of my waking hours for the last two weeks. :v  the productive/peaceful mindlessness of it has been kind of nice, honestly.
