something i'm deeply appreciating hentai for lately is the iddy disgust factor. it doesn't shy away from it. arguably that's a definition of hentai.

there's a lot of 'erotic art' lately that has a tendency to focus on the light floaty (marketable) feel-good themes. which is fine, i'm glad it exists, but not all sexual stuff is like that, nor is it all literary-serious. and like literary material sometimes portrays sexual disgust (unfortunately often as a moral lesson) but even without that there's a veneer of otherness and separation. 'oooo look at these base creatures being filthy. just filthy ooo' as a metaphorical fig leaf for the viewer so you're not faced directly with what you're looking at is porn.

versus assuming the reader's in the thick of it and (metaphorically or literally) jacking to it, like hentai. you read the tags and clicked into the pages, dawg. here it is.
