i recently brought a 1/6th scale figurine of one of those T34 characters, and it came in today! some photos below, plus a mini review.

alright, so context, y'all know i draw a lot of uniforms for kink art, right, one of the things i'm known for along with gun/bootplay. i've been on the hunt recently for a higher-end figure drawing reference model (with AI images becoming more popular, i've been shifting to using more "real" references (or movie stills) because i don't trust most images these days not to be modified. uniform references are also a little ethically tricky since sometimes you're not really Sure about the ideology of the sites you're yanking from). anyway, a uniform fetish creative buddy in a server (Jackboot) linked me this guy from monkeydepot and i was immediately impressed with the detail!

holy crap this would have made drawing FALKE, genuinely, 50% easier rather than having to hunt reference pictures either from leathermen pinterest boards or archive.org uniform books that haven't been yanked down. uniforms have really peculiar fabric "folds" (similar to suits but still different) because the stitching lines are so specific, and don't get me started on trying to draw crusher caps without having easy access to one.  (i mean, i have mine, but it has to stay in the lockbox pretty much 24/7, so a mini one is a lot easier.)

this was not cheap per se, but when i started doing the mental calculations of 'you get a highly detailed figure drawing reference with x4-5 outfit differences (could be used to model a suit/tie in a pinch), with all angles and loads of joints' versus maybe 2 thicc uniform reference books that i was hoping to give away anyway, and it made sense to buy it on the spot. :v

anyway, doot doot, this came in today. lots of carefully packed plastic bags; i don't have the original box because i chose the option without the box to save costs on shipping.  (the occasionalmotto box was not it either lol; just chose it as a slimmer one for me)

i am gobsmacked at the level of detail these 1/6th figurines have now?? what? literally just stared at his face with the cap for a good five minutes rotating it, with the scar detailing, the smirk detailing (god that is going to be useful), the hair and ear detailing ... my last experience with these things was like, fucking barbies and very shitty 1/8th inch knock-off disney toys LOL, i see the appeal in detailed BJD's now.

THERE ARE WRINKLES ON THE KNUCKLES TOO? like jesus. this detail.

(i also love that you get a real sense for fabric textures. pre cataracts eye surgery while i consciously knew fabric had texture, i never "saw" it, and i love how this feels authentic in that sense too, with the stitching in all the right places.

to be completely honest, i personally like keeping the head separate from the body at all times since it reads more of a drawing figure reference and not this creepy nazi vooodo doll XD  (it's also easier to keep it packed in this slim box so i can store it very safety and invisibly away).

the two things i have been fantasizing about for the last week is tying this thing up (lol) and taking his shirt off (looool) so i can do more drawing references as such. i still haven't figured out how to take off his shirt (i'm sorry this shit is so funny) without damaging the clasps, and i need to get a thinner more naturalistic cord that doesn't slip but already, this is going to also be staggeringly useful for bondage references, not just caps, suits, male faces, and uniforms. score!

it's such a minor detail, but i also really like that the insignias/symbols (the SS lightningbolts and the like) aside from the iron cross are stored in this teeny tiny separate bag as these fabric-sticker-decals because (a) to me, that's optional if i'm drawing a fantasy "bad guy"/fash uniform and i care a lot more about accurately rendering the pant folds of the legs than those, and (b) it's a heck of a lot less to have to ahhh, explain if somebody discovers it lol. so those are likely never to be used. i don't mind drawing it for kink junk and in reference books but i'm finding i'm kind of uncomfortable with these symbols irl, even if it's literally in a safe space of my choosing with me alone, who knew!

here's a bad picture of the rest of the other accoutrements -- the binoculars alone have this adorable little lense cap and i swear this shit is so realistic i legit looked through the binoculars to see if they put an actual working lense in there (alas they did not. have to cut corners somewhere.)

overall really happy with this purchase - literally the only nitpick i'd remotely consider thinking about is in hindsight i wish this thing came with taller boots for the obvious boot reference but like, that's on me for picking one without taller boots. :v  would not rec for just everyone for very obvious reasons, but if you're in the habit of drawing uniforms a lot, man this is useful!

I lost it at “creepy nazi voodoo doll” and have to reorient myself before making comments of Substance but damn this is so cool and what a wonderful idea for some tactile reference material!!

Ooooh! He's wonderful! Some of us are deeply attracted to articulated "dolls". It's an intriguing thing. I collect Asian Ball-Jointed dolls and should share some images.

Enjoy!
