okay, two fun/weird open-ended questions for y'all to toss your favorite recs at me: 

- have you ever seen prose capture the vibe of a ~disney villain song~? i'm referring to the classic like, late 90's bangers like be prepared, poor unfortunate souls, and the ever classic hellfire, just total unabashed HAM with an undertow of horny that sort of lives in your mind rent free for way too long. (fun fact: the animator who drew both of the latter is Kathy Zielinski <3  she's literal art and general people goals for me ngl; apparently there's amazing stories about her drawing hellfire while pregnant and straight up method acting out frollo's lines. )

what's interesting is i've seen comics actually do this -- this isn't the exact horny vibe, but i love how unsounded captures the bawdy raunchy quality of bored horny soldiers talking about the various vices that they miss back home via an impromptu sing-along. shan't spoil it but it drives home the whiplash moments on either side to an eerily strong degree.

but i don't think i've seen the 'disney villain song vibe' captured in prose and it makes me wonder if it can be done? I've seen some hellsing fanfiction with alucard that gets really close with some lyrics inserted since that vampire is made entirely of HAM, buuuuut it's not quite, quite there.

and

- what's your favorite sick whip fight scene (in anime/movies/games/etc)? (eg the sword of the stranger whip fight scene is metal as hell even for the top quality of that anime in general, and reminds me i really should devote some time to sitting down and watching the whole dang thing instead of 34 clips from sakugabooru)

castlevania netflix anime has some sick whip fight stuff! been a while since i watched it, but there was some good stuff there.

Hahah, the Belmonts remain the undisputed champions of whip fighting, I see! You're absolutely right - went back and rewatched the first season finale fight with Alucard and it holds up so, so well.

...Man, that first one is a good question. (nothing comes to mind for the second one, sorry.) I don't know what it says that the first thing my brain answered was "Georges Bataille's Erotism", when the prose in that isn't a) fiction and b) something completely different but related xD
