it's a little humorous...  might be going on an old figurine buying spree.

it got started with an almost accidental timing of getting an alucard nendo from a pre-order last year, and then a custom gunter standee who are both due to arrive in the next two weeks. (been really tight with purchases this past year so i don't feel too bad for those lol.)

then i had been debating on getting a copy of my beloved old sephiroth figurine back in the college years. my original broke in the 2020 move, and sephiroth's one of those 'literally got krad to draw" inspirations, right up there with zihark. he needs to be on the shelf.

and then i was looking at the stickers on my laptop all 'what about legion and tf2 sniper?' (they too, lived rent free in my mind for a good chunk of years, want to say at least 5 years or so, so shorter but still significant. i was a terrible sniper main lmao.) turns out they also had figurines and i never knew it. :o

to which, feel like figurine companies have finally realized it's not just hikikomori weaboos who'll buy pantyshot figurines compared to what the scene was 10 years ago, when i first commissioned the custom zihark figurine.

most of my figurines are still boxed up b/c i live in a temporary smaller space right now but there's a lin beifong and boba fett in storage who are both keepers, and i have a copy of the smaller kal and vau. it's not just any character that earns a spot on the shelf, either; i actually just sold an overwatch reaper since ... the character was neat to me there for a bit, but not one of those 'lasting' ones for me, personally. not a 'i can see their fingerprint in my creative work to this day' sense? it's almost... a way of capturing that nostalgia of fen/internet i grew up with, without being too....hm. too stuck in the past. it's there in the flesh as a fun little backdrop that doubles as great drawing references, it exists, but it doesn't have to bleed over to other parts of offline life.

wishlist characters:

- integra (hellsing) - it'd be lovely if she matched alucard somehow
- walter (hellsing)
- rourke (atlantis)
- zaeed massani (mass effect 2)
- pyramid head (silent hill)
- kakashi (naruto)
- at this point i am probably brain rotted enough to order a smaller custom gunter figurine yeap (fe14)

I have a Will Riker figurine from the episode where he goes undercover as an alien and gets captured -- and a plain old Deanna Troi figurine in the blue uniform. And then a David Xanatos figurine that keeps getting delayed and was supposed to be delivered way back in July! But that's it for me. I drool over figurines all the time but hardly ever take the leap and buy them.

ooooh snap i hadn't thought how star trek would be much like SW in that loads of characters have figurines :D that's awesome, and i'm glad you sprung for them. it's a special kind of awesome when your favorites get that love to that degree.
