Feb. 15th, 2024 05:27 pmtake me for the last thirty minutes:
"okay so krita essentially doesn't have wrap-text or tabs because it uses SVG code for text, and the "just add three spaces" trick doesn't work.... [goes on stackoverflow] apparently if you go into the code itself and add "10pt" to <"tspan="x"> and then just hand-hit-enter for every line you can fake a reasonably decent looking page but then you gotta hand-input that for every single line and while that would work for 2-5 pages of text i uh got well over 50-100? pages of text to add to this anthology.... that's not gonna work. now i wonder if i can ""fake"" a text page by shrinking a page in libreoffice to the size you're printing to the anthology, export every page as a pdf, and splice those .pdf pages into the finished anthology pdf, and if that doesn't work i can run those pdfs through a pdf-to-png converter since krita can't open pdfs and then insert the png's ...."
.... let's just say there's some serious lateral thinkin' going on here. :D(don't let this scare you away from the program/OS, of course; this is just the nature of the beast with linux. despite the apparent griping, I much prefer this and learning Deep Tech Lore than the subscription shit, but it's a choice i made.)
