Jun. 4th, 2024 05:11 pmit's one of those things you logically "know" but another to see cool science shit. :o
tl;dr is i just came back from the secondary cataracts procedure (fingers crossed, recovery going well so far) and:
a) did you know eye lazers that shoot shit in your eye sound exactly like star wars blaster lazers?
b) holy crap having one eye dilated vs the other one normally shows you the huge difference of "automatic" adjustments your eyes do behind the scenes to make the lightness/values of everything lighter/darker. artist side of my brain was taking a massive amount of notes there.
anyway!
also last night was looking into possibly playing elden ring on linux since a) admittedly i am single brain-celled enough to go 'holy shit awesome fe14 nohrian references' and b) i think i'm gonna need another giant open world game to scratch the itch once when TOTK runs out + c) apparently linux and steam can work pretty damn well together even if it's a windows-native game and it's not that hard to set up? playing elden ring with a gamecube controller would be friggin sweet :D
what's funny is i briefly brought the first dark souls game on the switch years ago but immediately returned it after like 10 minutes just because i sucked THAT badly at the combat and frankly it was a little ugly graphics-wise. i like polygons, don't get me wrong, but more the grey "dreariness" of it all? even skyrim was more colorful. anyway i'm honestly not really sure what the difference between bloodborne vs elden ring (vs OG dark souls are, would be happy to hear) but i'm willing to give it another shot.
anyway now both the e and the t keys (and I'm pretty sure z's next) on the keyboard are starting to fall off but one thing at a time right? :D
