1. What did you want to be when you grew up? archaeologist, i think; was absolutely A Dinosaur Child. growing up in the ripe media era of jurassic park (and its media empire), a bunch of science museums with a biology teacher mom, barney, and a land before time meant i was well fed.) funny story: i actually got to meet one of the original jurassic park logo designers at work once - the old guy was remarkably delighted to talk the ear off of a college grad about old grudges he had with a fellow designer lmao.
2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened? nah, would have hated academia compared to corporate, wouldn't pay enough, and the current frankenstein body would have issues with fieldwork. i liked to draw even all the way back then so being a design manager's still a pretty close backup.
3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid? If not, is it better or worse? infinitely better. it was not a pleasant childhood between the surgeries.
4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self? it's worth surviving.
5. Do you think the child you were would like the adult you've become? considering my signature look these days is a leather jacket with a camo t-shirt, totally. :) (...it did not take much for little me to think somebody absolutely Ruled.)
less flippantly, i still think my fifteen year old self would have appreciation; drawing (exceedingly naughty) doujinshi with videogames in my spare time while having a Posh Adult Manager Job and still being laid back and generally decent to others was a gift i didn't expect. i honestly think i didn't expect to be alive still, back then.
