so my immediate family and i have a little running joke that i've got the tech-voodoo skills.

somethin' electronic-wise breaks in the house, all i have to do is come and stand vaguely in the same room and said device works again. it's well past the numbers that i could confidently chalk it up as simple coincidence not gonna lie; pretty much happens consistently at least once a week since, oh geez, the mid 2000's? (last time was two nights ago with a third party walkman/ipod clone that wouldn't turn on).

and in the last five years or so particularly, i've always smiled to myself thinking that maybe, just maybe - it's the devices who respond to a kindred soul that's sometimes more machine than human with all the metal, magnets, and such in me.

my theory would be that this is an extreme weaponized version of when the problem with tech vanishes mysteriously the second you being a pro in to look at it

the machines just don't bother breaking in your vicinity
