I'm at least 50% that this turn of phrase originated on tumblr where the context is that nobody enjoys being op of a tumblr post that actually gets around

with the implication that "containment" is the range of people who aren't total strangers to you and won't misread your post based on absolutely unhinged misunderstandings of who this op is and what they may have meant
