one of the very few reoccurring nightmares i have is my poor baby linux computer getting infected with an old school virus that forces it to turn into a windows OS. dramatic changes to the user interface and all while i look on helplessly and try to shut the power off.

like it's not the 'oh shit somebody's controlling my computer' bit that gets me tweaked, like how you'd think.

it's the fuckin. forcewindow'ed??? into windows thing???

?????????????????

me @ my subconscious: jesus christ you are a nerd lol (also an amazing M$ hater)

(flips open the dream book and looks through) ... Yeah I got nothing, boss

That's pretty funny just as stated but also sounds stressful on the same level as the dreams where I open my closet and all of my clothes have been replaced with Charlotte Russe staples circa 2006, size XS-S

Well first of all props for Jung instead of Freud. But yes, lord, some updating.

I joke, but I'd hypothesize that we're both a couple of people who have specific and uncommon but personally useful norms of existence and the brain is ruminating on the concept of forced conformity at the expense of quality of life. I'd imagine mine is vintage-flavored because that's when I felt most aware of my alienation from the norm, or something like that.

apologies for doing the brushes hair back flips the sword around jumps thing at you there, my self-own had splash damage XD

but for real though, feels like the same sorts of stories can pretty easily speak to two materially different but, as it happens, thematically congruent experiences. wild stuff, that!

...This could be a kink, if I think about it hard enough. Forcible OS changes to an android or just to a hacker so connected to their computer that it feels like an extension of themself. The computer then starts showing messages trying to congratulate you on installing the latest version of Microsoft Windows.

I'm sorry you're dealing with recurring nightmares. This one, however, is very funny out of context.
