kradeelaveight hours in a hospital ER today was not. exactly how we had planned the day to go, dear lordy.
real weird being on the other side of the chair/in the waiting room this time.
tl;dr mom's .... stable.....?
slight question mark to that(?) long story short, leading theory is the injected lidocane when she had to get stitches interacted REAL bad with a heart that already had afib/current afib-y medicine and she hasn't been great the past two weeks but it went sideways when we were driving down to do the burial for grandmother.
i knew i was really really good at giving orders in a medical crisis (having been patient zero... too much lol), at least made all the right ones this time.
but man, being in a position when there's nothing but pure ice cold focus and raw projected calm calming down your own parent in real pain and having a panic attack (both parents really) who's usually the absolute stoic one is...... jesus man, stuff of nightmares.
something something truly one of those moments when you well and truly assume the mantle of The Adult.
anyway, she's at (other) grandmas with me (grandma's also a retired nurse) rn; next best place to be.
