i don't think the dude or the comments go far enough in terms of blasting how mis-aligned incentives are for in-house designers in terms of "what looks good" vs "what sells" and the amount of soul butchery involved in the endless meetings in between.
when you get to a point of "optimizing" that "a literal scribble looks better because it's that different" something is terribly, terribly broken.
