i saw a cute tellius shipping meme recently but realized pretty quickly after filling out a few tiers that i would receive the stank eye from most of the fandom for highly unorthodox tastes. :P parking this here instead of other SNS sites since i trust y'all quite a bit more; tellius peeps feel free to gank ~

ike/soren; i have old petty grudges related to this that don't matter ~ won't make it anyone else's problem but i'd personally rather ship greil/soren just to be edgily evil vs the above. :P

...with the caveat of, i'm in the middle of writing m/m/m right now and do you know how fucking annoying the pronouns get. oh my god. i didn't realize how good i had it with sothe/micaiah/pelleas!!! CONSTANTLY having to ask myself "ok is it clear which of these bastards is doing [x], can i just use 'he', or do i have to use their fucking name AGAIN" (i have to use their fucking name again.)

haha - Petrine has the weirdest energy with Greil in Shades of Evil that stuck out at baby!krad even back in the day... love how she's a thematic foil to Titania too in a Crimean/Daein way. Feels like it has potential. :)

oh brother I don't even need to know the specific beef to be with you on the ike/soren thing, ike/soren shippers can just really be Like That sometimes. kinda shit that gives me even more reason to be a huge fandom hipster, if there's a ship that's crazy popular and drains all the oxygen in the room you can count on me to not be into it! and if the shippers are annoying enough about it I'll be not into it even harder

I can at least just barely cut the really old ones some slack on being embattled inasmuch as ike/soren fans used to have to fight for space against annoying straight dudes who were heavily invested in Ike being straighter than Marth (a guy who is canonically married to a woman but who cares). that stuff is so far away in the rearview mirror by now though! and anyone who wasn't in the trenches back then just doesn't have any excuse

all else said though, isn't shinon/alcohol just canon-

(furthermore: I can't think of a badtouch between greil and petrine that they wouldn't just respond to with a game face and a "harder, asshole"; and I'm now going to be thinking about heather/mist for the rest of my life thanks)

fandom hipster is exactly it - you nailed it XD (honestly i'd have far less of an issue with it as well if all of soren's characterization didn't usually get flattened to something indistinguishable from aimee. honestly think racist soren (and his arc) was something pretty daring and cool for a kid's media to have given his circumstances and it's a crying shame it gets completely ignored. i do have a sliver of sympathy for the old guard too since there was a lot of ike/elincia shippers also in the fray - i actually forgot about the straight bros there for a sec, thanks for reminding me. but as you said, in the rearview mirror and all.

:D happy to delight with heather/mist especially; drew them once back in the day and always thought it was cutely compelling.
